Class Offerings

Golden Yoga: Gentle Flow for Older Yogis
Golden Yoga is a gentle flow for older practitioners of all levels (beginner to advanced). We'll flow through sequences that focus on supporting the maintenance of functional movement. These classes are created to build strength, increase circulation, and improve balance.
Golden Yoga offers space for creative variations on traditional yoga poses. This is great if you're managing things like arthritis, joint swelling, chronic pain, limited mobility, etc. This class is often chair-based or mat-to-chair-based.
Adult Yoga: Recenter and Restore
Our Adult Yoga classes focus on a combination of mindful and restorative movement. We offer Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and combination classes.
In Hatha Yoga, we focus on moving mindfully and building our foundation from the ground up. We marry breath to movement, but we take it at a pace that feels right for us, make the adjustments that feel good in our bodies, and turn inward to focus not on how the pose looks, but on how it feels. Our Adult Hatha classes are generally mat-based.
Restorative Yoga involves props like blocks, bolsters, blankets, and pillows. As these props completely support the body, we'll encourage you to relax into poses for 5 minutes or more. Our Restorative classes help calm the nervous system, and release stress and tension from the mind and body.

Accessible Yoga for People with Disability & Limited Mobility
While it's our goal for every class we teach to be as accessible as possible, these classes are uniquely created to serve people with disabilities. Join us to focus on finding movement that is available and comfortable in your body, no matter how it feels that day.
These classes offer a safe space to explore and reconnect to bodies that we may have complicated relationships with. We're here to show care and compassion to our bodies.
We'll work on things like spinal flexibility, increasing range of motion, strength building, and more. If you're new to yoga, don't worry. These classes are beginner-friendly. Join us in your chair, on your bed, or on the mat and we'll discover joy in movement together!
Are You Ready To Find Your Joy?
Hi, I'm Joy!
My mission is to help you find a joyful connection to your body -- to teach you how to move in a way that doesn't feel like punishment.
I began practicing yoga seriously in college as a way to manage depression and anxiety. It helped me center myself and commit to my well-being.
I didn't know, at the time, that it would turn into a life-long calling!
Wellness, however, has been a steady passion. In 2015, I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Health&Societies and Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies. I worked as a Peace Corps Community Health Volunteer in Cameroon for nearly two years, educating women about prenatal health, family planning, and HIV prevention.
I returned to the U.S. invigorated to serve my local community. But I wasn't sure what form that service should take. It took a few years to find my way back to my first love -- this time as a teacher.
Yoga has carried me through some of the toughest transitions of my life to date. Through living in foreign countries, PTSD, grief, loss and so much more.
After ten years of personal practice, I've learned that compassion, kindness, and creativity are the tools to making movement joyful and consistent.
Now I want to share that with you!

Bring some greater serenity to your girls’ night or relax before sitting to chat in bi-weekly book club. Give your family the gift of yoga or stretch out after a long hike with friends. Whatever the setting, I'm ready to guide you through joyful moments on (and off) your mat.
(Best suited to events with up to 15 participants.)
This is my most specialized offer. I will work with you weekly, one-on-one, to identify your needs and what you’d like to work on (for example: strength-building, relaxation, emotional regulation, expanding range of mobility, etc.) and create a unique plan to help you reach your goals!
If you have employees that are managing overwhelm and burnout, we can support them in finding stress relief. Or perhaps you’re an organization that works with a special population, such as the elderly or people with disabilities. Joyful Yoga wants to be part of building wellbeing in your community!
